This in turn articulates into a Bachelor of Performing Arts that can be attained in three semesters. The initial entry Diploma year articulates into a second year of study to achieve an Advanced Diploma. WAAPA’s Lighting program offers training in vocational (VET) and degree courses which allows students to increase their academic qualifications with further study. Areas of study include electronics, optics, cinematography, documentation and drafting, budgeting, crew management, script analysis and control board operation. Our vocational, hands-on course has seen graduates go on to be Chief. Students work on a range of productions mounted by WAAPA and are expected to provide service at a professional level of competence. Mountview has been training lighting designers and technicians for over 40 years. Students develop skills and knowledge in theatre, film and television lighting, lighting design, and lighting operation.
